Office 2003: Microsoft Office is really
geared for, well yes! .. Office users! Basically Microsoft tries to get more and more
intuitive ..i.e. anticipating what we want to do and helping us! The less
expensive office suite is called MSWorks. The latest version of this uses
Microsoft Word although you can get a version that does not. MSWorks
doesn't
have
cute wizards and except for the ever in the way Task Launcher it is very much
the same for the LIGHT user. What it DOESN'T have is a contact
management/communications program like Microsoft Outlook that ties everything
together. It connects your email, calls, tasks, notes, appointments,
letters, form letters and and and .. well it does a lot.
Other versions you might be using are Office XP
(2002), OFFICE 2000, or (unlikely) OFFICE 1997.
Personal Accounting: The digital checkbook. Online banking or rather accessing one's bank and credit card accounts online is finally hitting mainstream. I've been doing electronic bill paying for a while. But most of the online sites will let you download the transaction details right in to Quicken or Money. Then you identify each with a category and your personal accounting is DONE!
